The Second Annual Mock Trial in Competition Law

Event Summary

 

 

On 21 December 2025, the final round of the Second Annual Mock Trial in Competition Law was held at the Faculty of Law of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU). The event was organized within the framework of the EU-funded Jean Monnet Module “European and Comparative Competition Law and Policy” (ECCLAP).. 

The mock trial was open to LLB and LLM students at higher education institutions in Georgia. The competition was conducted in three stages: expression of interest/registration, submission of written pleadings on a pre-published problem question, and an oral court hearing..

A total of 26 teams participated in the event. The final round, held on 21 December, also involved a panel of student judges from the TSU: Ana Tirkia, Nino Maisuradze, and Anuki Kharadze.

The team “Brainstorm” from Free University of Tbilisi (Ana Kakhiani, Nia Razmadze, and Keti Tsereteli) won the competition. The team captain, Ana Kakhiani, was also named as the best speaker of the event.

The final stage of the competition also featured the team “Triada” from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (Salome Samadashvili, Mariam Pataraia, Mariam Kiknavelidze) and the “Free University Team” (Ketevan Kalandadze, Nitsa Nanobadze, Natia Bedukadze).

The TSU Faculty of Law and the event organizer - the coordinator of the Jean Monnet Module ECCLAP, Dr. Liana Japaridze – express their gratitude to the participants and judges for their hard work and preparation, resulting into a dynamic and engaging event.
